Mercedes Turrieta – Insurance Coordinator
Mercedes is our insurance coordinator. She collects all the information to submit claims for dental treatment. She makes every effort to help you get the most out of your insurance plan. She came to work in our office in August 2013 originally as a Dental Assistant and became the insurance coordinator in 2017.
Mercedes attended Charter College for Dental Assisting in 2009. In 2014 she earned Registered Dental Assistant license.
When she is not at work, Mercedes loves being with family, camping, and hanging out with her friends. She also loves hiking with the dogs, visiting parents in San Diego, going to Disneyland, working on DIY projects, and planning and decorating for parties.
Neffer Pernisco – Dental Hygienist
Neffer started dentistry in 1997 as a Registered Dental Assistant. She worked as an assistant for 11 years and because of her passion in dentistry, she decided to go back to school where she received her Dental Hygiene degree in 2008.
Her regards for patient care and work ethics goes beyond and loves educating her patients in dental hygiene. She brings valuable knowledge and periodontal treatment to our hygiene department and is a great asset to our practice.
Neffer and her family love the outdoors. They like to go dirt biking, boating, hiking, and traveling. They enjoy going to sporting events, especially to hockey games. One of Neffer’s bucket lists of things to accomplish is to go to every NHL arena. She has reached quite a few hockey arenas.
Jennifer Danel – Dental Hygienist
Jennifer has been a hygienist for 5 years, graduating from Pasadena City College in 2013. She was born and raised in the Antelope Valley; she graduated from Desert Christian High School and played AYSO soccer for 10 years.
Her favorite part of her job is being able to educate her patients regarding the importance of oral health, and being able to form a relationship and looking forward to seeing them again.
She likes to be outdoors: hiking, gardening and jet skiing. One day she hopes to hike Half Dome in Yosemite and travel around Europe. She also loves weightlifting with her husband, cooking and hosting small gatherings with their friends.
Sandie Revelle – Dental Assistant
Sandie is a Registered Dental Assistant who joined our office in 2014. She works with the dentists to provide the best treatment in the most comfortable way possible.
Sandie attended Clarita College and attended continuing education classes at UCLA, where she earned certificate for Expanded Functions as a Registered Dental Assistant.
In June 2017, Sandie and her husband, Brian, were married. Their combined family is made up of Sandie’s four children and three grandchildren, and Brian’s four children and two grandchildren.
Sandie loves seeing new things, traveling, and spending time with family.
Jasmine Wijnen – Dental Assistant
Jasmine came to AV Dental Wellness Group in January 2018 as a new dental assistant. She attended the dental assisting program at Charter College here in Lancaster. There, she learned how to carry out infection control and take dental radiographs, as well as how to speak with patients in great detail about their dental hygiene. Before coming to our office, Jasmine worked as a dental assistant intern at a dental office in Palmdale.
Jasmine comes from a pretty big family with easily over 40 aunts, uncles and cousins combined. They are spread out around California, Texas, Mexico, and even Holland. Jasmine has been married to her husband, Kevin, since 2013, and they live here in the Antelope Valley with their puppy, Morty.
In her spare time, Jasmine loves to read, play video games, and travel when possible. She and her husband love to take road trips; a couple of their favorite places are Monterey, California, and the Grand Canyon.
Sonia Mendez – Dental Assistant
Sonia is one of our dental assistant and has been in the dental field since 1998 after graduating Clarita Career College in Canyon Country. She works closely with the dentists and the patients to help in providing the best quality care and as comfortable of an experience as possible.
She enjoys talking and getting to know her patients. Her goal is to make sure the patients are happy with their experience in our dental office and loves to bring smiles upon the patient’s faces.
Sonia has been married to her husband Ernesto since March 2015. Together they have 5 beautiful children and 1 awesome grandson. Outside of work her family is her focus. She enjoys hiking, going to the beach, baking and making memories with her husband and children.
Angie Watkins – Dental Hygienist
Having moved to the Antelope Valley in 1976, Angie has watched our valley grow from a small agricultural community to a thriving city and major contributor to the aeronautical and aerospace world. She is extremely proud of her Antelope Valley roots and being a Dental Hygienist allows Angie to give back to the community she loves.
Angie began her dental career as an office manager in 1998. In 2002 she decided to go back to school (part time), to become a dental hygienist, By the end of 2008, with a lot of hard work, she had finally reached her goal.
Making a genuine difference in the oral health care of patients is what pushed Angie to the clinical aspect of dentistry. Angie feels that we as dental professionals play an important role in a person’s overall health and wellbeing. By collaborating with patients, listening to their needs and concerns, and staying current on new advancements in the field, she can serve as a guide to help her patients make the best and most informed decisions for the betterment of their oral health.
Angie enjoys exploring our National Parks, local California mountains and beaches, and hitting every winery on the way. She and her family also love to explore other countries and cultures.
